Solids AR - Augmented Reality
Solids AR is an educational application designed to teach geometry using augmented reality. By scanning QR codes with an Android smartphone or tablet, users can visualize and manipulate various geometric solids. To access the QR codes, users can download and print the material from the app's information screen or from the provided link.
The app consists of five modules: Visualization, Nets, Creation, Modeling, and Geoboard. In the Visualization module, users can explore a collection of 42 geometric solids and customize their appearance by adjusting transparency, showing or hiding edges and vertices, and changing the height of the objects. The Nets module offers interactive flat pattern animations for 6 geometric solids.
The Creation module allows users to create their own augmented reality scenes using primitive objects such as cubes, spheres, cones, cylinders, pyramids, and semi-spheres. Users can transform these objects through translation, rotation, and scaling operations. The Modeling module provides QR codes for modeling two-dimensional figures like polygons and circles, as well as three-dimensional objects like prisms, pyramids, cones, and their corresponding trunks. Finally, the Geoboard module offers a virtual geoplan where users can add lines, planes, and three-dimensional figures.
Overall, Solids AR is a comprehensive tool for learning geometry through augmented reality. It provides a wide range of interactive modules that make geometry education engaging and interactive.
